Eurocucina Milano 2016 Selections

After the return of our design team from Milano this week, we selected some of the most interesting design ideas we found at the Eurocucina 2016.

Cabinetry Trends at Eurocucina 2016

In cabinetry, we saw many interesting design approaches with petrified wood such as oak and beech, up to 600 years old woods, with a clear direction into traditional craftsmanship. By boldly combining vertical and horizontal grain direction, we are moving towards a more chaotic but vivid design style.

On the other hand, we also found a heavy usage of natural materials such as black granite’s like the Black Assoluto, with a natural leather finish, and a higher interest in outside furniture out of concrete.

European Kitchen Appliance Trends

Our absolute favorite were the booth space of Gaggenau appliances, that featured a blacksmith live in action, representing their 333 anniversary, forging a new legend with the new EB 333 90cm oven.

Miele introduced their new line of handle-free appliances. These ovens, microwaves and steam ovens open electrically with a simple touch and can be closed by hand. This new approach makes a designers dream of a truly flush kitchen come true.

Furniture Trends

We were also in love with the puristic Steininger concrete furniture presentation, made in Austria. The outdoor kitchen concept “ROCK” allows individual modular pieces with moveable tops that turn into bars, to be placed individually. This creates a dramatic atmosphere in the backyard with hidden features as cooktops, dishwashers and storage drawers.  A true kitchen for the outdoor purists.

Our Friends at TON displayed their new “Leaf” collection, creating a very organic and yet modern chair and table design, that fits perfectly in an urban environment while still embracing traditional craftsmanship.
